About Your New Employer

A global medical device organisation is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their Galway site on a permanent basis. You will provide overall Leadership to the Department ensuring that People, Quality, Customer Service and Cost goals are achieved while working closely with others ensuring alignment on plans and goals are achieved efficiently and effectively.

About Your New Job as a Production Department Manager:

  • You will work with the Engineering Manager and Quality Manager to put in place a strategic plan for the Production Unit and through all of the sites key systems, delivers the plan through a collaborative approach with the resources in the Production Unit.
  • You will leverages Lean initiatives as programs and procedures are implemented within the Value Stream to improve safety, quality and customer indicators, reduce waste, improve processes and labour efficiencies, and reduce direct operating expenses.
  • You will champions effective employee relations and communication within the department.
  • You will establish cross-functional team relationships and work closely in identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • You will develop, manage and monitor department budgets and plans and allocates resources to ensure optimisation of customer service targets, inventory levels, procurement delivery and costs.

What Skills You Need:

  • Minimum Level 8 NFQ, Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Engineering. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 10+ years in an operations environment.
  • Experience working in a polymer processing environment (extrusions, injection over-moulding, balloon-forming) a distinct advantage.
  • 5 years in people management.
